I read your link but am still a little confused, I just want to double check on what I was told by TRS because I trust you more. If I started at age 28 and work 27 years I should be able to retire on a full pension at 55, but if I started at age 29 it would be 56, right? Also, I remember one of your posts saying newer tier 4 teachers have to wait 15 years for the lifetime health benefits? The difference is two years. However, maybe you were retroactively had Tier IV credit. If that is the case then you would be automatically be enrolled in the 27/55 program and not the 25/55 program.Chazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964739497720364749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20674128.post-48674735259251572682016-01-08T19:03:38.625-05:002016-01-08T19:03:38.625-05:00Chaz,

I just spoke with someone from TRS last week, I am in teir 4 27/55 (which I was enrolled in automatically) instead of the 25/55 program that I hear about more often. They told me I can retire at age 55 with a full pension, I started at age 28 in 2013, which would give me 27 years when I am 55. Are they telling me the truth, what is the difference between 55/25 and 55/27 besides 2 years?

ThanksAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09143684764680691539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20674128.post-72918079742345230882016-01-08T19:02:20.664-05:002016-01-08T19:02:20.664-05:00Chaz,

Usually your last three years. However, that assumes that you have been paying the extra 1.84% a payche3ck to be in the 25/55 program.
