WNBC 4 And The Daily News Wants Your Stories On Student Attacks On Staff And Dangerous Schools.

I received an e-mail from a colleague that asked if I would use my blog to help WNBC 4 to investigate student attacks on teachers that the school Administration either minimizes or refuses to report for fear of the bad publicity and a lower school grade.  If you experienced such an attack or saw a colleague attacked by a student and nothing happened to the student or was covered up by the school, then please contact Jonathan Vigliotti at WNBC 4.  You will remain anonymous so that the Administration or the DOE cannot retaliate against you.  Jonathan Vigliotti  seems like the real deal and he produced this fair piece just last month that you can find on my blog previously.  Here.

Ben Chapman of the New York Daily News and Daniels Royes of ABC 7 wants to hear from teachers who work in "dangerous schools" where the Administration refuses to provide a safe and secure environment for their staff.  Personally, I don't trust Ben Chapman who failed to do proper "fact checking" on an article dealing with me.  However, if you believe that your school is a "dangerous school" than let him know and hope that his journalist skills have improved since the Spring of 2012.

Staff attacks - contact Jonathan Vigliotti at Vgliotti@gmail.com or 1-786-376-4803.  His twitter account is@JonVig4NY

Dangerous schools - Ben Chapman 1-212-210-2100 or 1-646-509-4201  For Daniela Royes at ABC 7 at 1-917-260-7683  or Daniela Royes@ABC.com

Chaz so disapointed in you not mentioning to this NBC reporter how much of a disaster the ATR pool is and how bloomberg has punished great teachers and guidance counselors for no valid reason what so ever. You should have told him how bloomberg refuses to have the 2000 plus ATRs in the classrooms yet schools are understaffed, have few if any counselors and struggle to meet the needs of the school population. The public needs to know that bloomberg wasted millions of dollars then going and hiring new staff members when indeed bloomberg had thousands of educators waiting to work with the kids. Yes, dangerous schools are important to look at but the ATR story trumps anything remotely close in any organization. I believe the ATR situation if other people really found out and realized how screwed up bloomberg really is would produce a huge response from the public and thats what the media outlets want, right?

    TO NBC NEWS TEAM:

Mikey bloomberg has a huge sick ego and his is hiding the fact that he is paying over 2000 educators including teachers, guidance counselors, social workers, secretaries and school paras without having them in a school. Instead mikey bloomberg opted to rotate these educators from school to school every week without being able to have an impact on any students or families. The questions is why? NBC news needs to confront bloomberg as to why he refuses to put these educators in schools permantly?? Bloomberg will tell you that these educators cannot find a job in the system but take it from me, the schools are informed not to interview any ATR educators so you can apply and apply but never hear from any principal. Mikey bloombergs dirty little secret has been going on for years and to add insult to injury, bloomy went out and hired thousands of new educators when all along he had thousands of educators waiting to work all this while budgets were supposedly tight. Title of your education piece should be bloombergs education dirty little secret

My personal feelings aside. If Mr Chapman wants to expose "dangerous schools" so be it. We should all know who, where, and what they are.

I never spoke to Mr Vigilloti but I will try to contact him with the idea in mind.

Looks like in NYC schools you can get away with the "knockout game" in ways you never could on the outside, and the media will never report on it.

  9. FYI - Jonathan Vigliotti of NBC actually filmed an interview with a teacher who was taunted, threatened, and bullied by an entire grade of students since September, then was finally assaulted by one of them, sent to the hospital, and the teacher remains on disability.

The story was supposed to air last week, but the teacher heard nothing, so the teacher called him back and was told that the story wasn't going to run because, "School violence has been on the decline since 2003, and we already did a story on an assaulted teacher. This would be doing the same story again."

While, as a former ATR, I agree that the ATR situation is egregious, but to say that the ATR is more important than focusing on our appointed colleagues who are being abused, assaulted, and attacked by students is unfair. BOTH situations are disgusting and BOTH need to be exposed, by shouting from the rooftops, if necessary.

When a teacher is subjected to taunts of "white bitch", told to "get your white ass in a white school", is followed to his.her car by groups of students screaming, "Fuck you, white bitch!! We gonna fuck you up!" and is told by the principal that the students are not being racist at all, and that "I doubt they even know you are white", IT NEEDS TO BE TOLD. ATR pool or NO ATR pool. Just as the ATR situation needs publicity. But one does not outshine the other.

By the way, Daniela Royes is interested in video of students being unruly in classrooms and Ben Chapman has said he would run a piece on student assaults on teachers on Monday. Let's see if it happens.

Personal safety trumps atr outrage ,(I'm an atr). Wings has 6 teachers assaulted in a month. An atr was attacked and robbed there last week with a new principal in place. Stop being afraid let the media know , what can they do ? We're already atrs.

What I want to know is where is the union. If a school is that dangerous then the union should instruct teachers not to enter the school. Where are you Michael Mulgrew. Quiet as can be. Sitting on your big fat ass as usual. He should be at wings academy leading a protest against the conditions. But what does he care. I say make him teach there. Yea like that will ever happen. He just collects his two hundred and fifty thousand dollar salary and laughs all the way to the bank. And you know what I am laughing to. I am laughing at the pathetic teachers who voted for this man. Maybe they deserved to be injured. After all you voted for someone who says nothing and does nothing. Good luck teachers.
Remember a vote for Mulgrew is a vote for your potential bodily harm.

Amy Arundel should lead a moratorium on no ATRs being sent to Wings. Our union should not be allowing its members to be sent into dangerous working conditions. Contact her, your rotation may land you there next.

Where were these reporters before? Why are they so interested in reporting on these issues now? Is it because Bloomy is now done as Mayor? Seems insincere to me.

How is it an elementary sch principal can be reporting teachers , aides , paras etc wth allegations of false corp punishment and putting letters in senior teachers files repeatedly to torture them . Why is this admin still there?
