Thank You!

I would thank the many education bloggers who have rallied to my defense after the DOE tried to ruin my reputation by giving the newspapers a deliberately distorted file about me that omitted some very important information and the actual truth as to what was decided in my 3020-a hearing. The DOE file, complete with false accusations, misstatements and deliberate omissions made it seem that I committed sexual misconduct and got away with it. The truth is very different.

Thanks to all of you both the Daily News and New York Times experienced the "blowback" and have now realized that the DOE was less than forthright and had their own agenda in sending them selected information that was intended to trash my reputation and others. I can only hope the next time the news media gets information from the DOE, they should carefully "fact check" the information and not assume it is correct or complete.

What is next for me? I guess I will find out if the DOE retaliates and "reassigns me" or will they simply lick their wounds and realize that their strategy to destroy the sixteen teachers backfired? I guess I will know Monday when I report to my school. Stay turned.

Again, my thanks to all the education bloggers and the people who commented on my and other people's blogs in support of me and the truth.

The system itself is corrupt and few courageous individuals such as yourself are willing to fight against this empire with unlimited resources at their hands. The system does not care about teachers, administrators and students, all they care about is making themselves look honorable and decent when in fact, it is the complete opposite. I hope that the DOE will not come after you now, as that is their pattern for those who fight back. Stay vigilant! Good luck!

I wish you the best. May you reap the benefits of seeing the DoE brought to shame in the media for their heartless attempts to defame and discredit my union brothers and sisters.

Be very, very careful. The DoE is vicious and vindicative. They will try to set you up again. Don't open up any packages that they may place in your classroom. They'll probably say that you stole pencils from the DoE's supply closet.

I am one of your biggest supporters.

Hi. I am an aspiring social studies teacher. You are one of my favorite education bloggers. I know we have never met. I can tell from your blog posts that you are an honest soul that never did anything wrong. I admire you for fighting the good fight as they say. Good luck!

Just keep careful records.

It would be best if you could use the David Pakter method.

All the very very best. As I tried to negotiate my way through the targeting and harassment the past few years, I took solace from your blog, hoping that you and others like you could fight the good fight and win for the rest of us. (I, alas, was too weak and recently retired, too tired and demoralized to fight anymore.) Keep us all posted. We are rooting for you probably more than you know!

Have you consulted with a good lawyer? If not, please do so. Best wishes to you.

Like burntoutteacher, I couldn't take the harassment and retired also.
I walked out during the term, and didn't say goodbye to any of the teachers at my POS school that didn't stand behind me.
Now that principal is being replaced and the school is being closed.
This corrupt system doesn't deserve good teachers like you. Let them all go screw themselves.
Take care of yourself, and don't let those slimebags ruin your life.
