Mayor Bill De Blasio Is An Idiot

Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters who questioned him on what children will do in the summer if the pools and playgrounds are closed.  His response was that he and Chancellor Richard Carranza are working on remote learning programs to entertain the children. What an idiot the Mayor is.

Most NYC children live in old apartment buildings, many with no air conditioning or can't afford the bills by running the air conditioner all day.   Even during the school year, only 77% of the teenagers actually logged in for attendance and even less who actually participated in instruction.  The probable result is that many streets will have open fire hydrants and teenagers climbing fences to play basketball or using playground equipment. Other bored teenagers will be up to no good like street crimes and assaulting each other.

It appears most UFT members who have died from COVID-19 are from the Bronx or Brooklyn which is primary minority and have high density housing.  Moreover, they tend to use mass transit as their mode of transportation. Finally, these two boroughs have higher percentages of health issues.

The latest update (Monday) of the covid-19 count can be found below.

Region........Infected............Deaths.........Percentage

I am a 22 year old teacher. I have the coronavirus. Thank god it isn't severe symptoms, but the first few days I felt really fatigue and my nose was so stuffed I couldn't breathe, had to breathe with my mouth open.

I have been doing much better now.

The City of New York as a whole is one big mess and fraud. World's greatest city - hahaha. What a joke? More like world's greatest at being the worst.

They both have no sense towards anyone at all. I don't think it is a color thing I think it is a stupidity things. They don't know how to lead. They just know how do dodge questions because they know if they actually tell the truth which is schools should have been closed 2-3 weeks sooner. Instead of closing schools, DeBlasio said schools had to stay open to provide daycare and if schools closed he was afraid the whole city would shut down-duh! That's what needed to happen. HE KILLED MANY PEOPLE, HE PLAYED WITH ALL CITY RESIDENTS LIVES. HE NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL.

You explicitly noted DeBlaso has "no sense of responsibility towards people of color".

I'm of European descent (white) as are my children that go to NYC public schools.

Maybe YOU"RE the racist!

Lets not polarize this pandemic....

Just got a note from principle. Teachers are being asked if they want to picks up items from school since we are closed until next year.

DOE will schedule small groups to come in to clean out their rooms.

Further instructions to follow.

White is right on this one HAHAHA when you say color we know what you are talking about you are excluding the white ones..

stop with all the stupidity you are deflecting the real problem which is the mayor and the chancellor If you start making it a racial issue instead of an incompetence issue you distract everyone from the real problem.. THESE TWO BOZOS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY START MAKING PLANS FOR ALL OF US TO WORK THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER ...STAY FOCUSED PEOPLE.. WE CANT SAVE THE CITY FROM THESE TWO CLOWNS

Anonymous said...

Would it be layoffs?
would Atr‘s be put back in the classroom?
The mayor said there’s only have

If everyone is a person of color then that designation becomes meaningless That’s probably a good thing.

Unless we as a group hold protests and go to meetings then nobody will do anything for us. Mulgrew already said "he is De Blasio's bitch". I know I am paraphrasing but he did say something similar. UFT sold us out. UFT murdered us. DeBlasio purchased the guns and bullets but UFT shot us.

Since Caucasians started slavery in the first place you cannot call out people of color for racism or reverse racism. If a white person uses the N word it has a bad connotation. If a person of color uses it it is something a Caucasian is incapable of understanding because of the experience.

"Since caucasians started slavery in the first place...."

Check your history books.....

From the 1600's through the early 1800's, Africans (muslims) from N Africa (Morocco/Algieria/Libya/Tunisia) raided European villages and raped, kidnapped, enslaved European women and sold them in slave markets before the first European slavers ever invaded the continent.....the men were killed. The area was called "the Barbary Coast". Go to N Africa today, and you will see light haired/light eyed nationals.

As well, slavery occurred in Africa for thousands of years before the first European ever set foot on the continent.....ever hear of the pyramids?

Sadly, these bits of history are never included in the history books......the only people guilty of slavery were europeans.

Check it out...absolutely enlightening.

A good book on the white slave trade along the Africas Barbary Coast is "Christian Slaves , Muslim Masters"......

Caucasians started slavery? Ummmmm.....how about Pharonic Egypt and the Jews? Circa 5,000 yrs ago!

I hope you're not a history teacher.

Anonymous said...

The Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese, British, Arabs and a number of West African kingdoms played a prominent role in the Atlantic slave trade, especially after 1600. African leaders were involved in slavery themselves. Slavery goes back centuries. Slavery continues into today all around the world. Africans have not been the only enslaved throughout history. The question is, how to end slavery worldwide.

waitingforsupport said...

I don't care who started it. I do know the repercussions continue to be felt by African Americans in the US. I do know that.

Anonymous said...

It needs to be acknowledged that people in Africa sold their own people into slavery. There were also white slaves raped by their black overseers in the carribean. Poor whites from Ireland and England were brought to the carribean for being poor and stealing food. This is not ever mentioned in the history books or spoken about publicly. It's always presented as only one group of people that were enslaved when it actuality it was the opposite. It's just that the blacks are better at sharing only one side of slavery in the world.

waitingforsupport said...

@7:16pm... you read what i believe. You can dress up the story anyway you need to in order to not see the truth. No worries black people are very resilient. As an African American, I know what I've experienced.

waitingforsupport said...

You presented an incomplete lesson about slavery. Tell me about slavery in the USA.

I responded to your inaccurate statement that Caucasians started slavery.....they did not. People have been treating each other like crap for thousands of years.

Don't feel bad about not knowing that white slavery existed along the Barbary Coast in N Africa prior to the black slave trade. ....for some inexplicable reason, its been omitted from history. But do google it if you want to develop a more complete appreciation for the human condition

@waitingforsupport

Look at that racist teacher who has been harassing my son DeShawn on here. The idiot teacher claims to teach in Riverdale but can't tell the difference between "two, to and too". If this idiot racist teacher taught my son - I'd drag her by her hair and personally drive her to the Chancellor's office. I'd demand how can a racist not know the difference between "which and witch" or "they're or their or there". Now, you know that idiot racist was either discontinued or brought up on charges because he/she/it could not teach. Now, she blames black kids like my son, DeShawn.

Why don't you want to educate yourself about the different facets of slavery? Would it crash your paradigm?

C'mon google "The European slaves of the Barbary Coast"....Interestingly, one of our first presidents went to N Africa to lobby against it (Hamilton?)

There's nothing wrong with not knowing, but when you make an effort to avoid facts, thats just pitifully ignorant.

Incidentally, slavery and indentured servitude still exists today, even in NYC.

@5:50 PM - Just bringing light to the issue of slavery. All different groups have been enslaved and continue to be. In the USA African Americans continue to experience the repercussions to slavery, but let's not make the mistake that different groups are discriminated against for different reasons right here in the USA. People of all color, religious affiliation, ethnicities, races, age groups, etc. Worldwide people continue to be enslaved - WORLDWIDE. It is a worldwide issue.

Anonymous said...

@5:21 PM - Hope you are feeling better. Wish you well.

Anonymous said...

12:24 PM - Thank you for the book recommendation. Will look it up.

Anonymous said...

@9:24 PM - Colorism continues to be an issue. Dark African descent vs light African descent. Dark Asian vs light-skinned Asian. Dark skinned Hispanic-Latino descent vs light skinned Hispanic-Latino descent. Dark skinned Indian descent vs Light skinned Indian descent. ETC, etc, etc. These issues are prevalent within their own communities.

When people of European descent bring up slavery that has occurred against European descent people, why is it that African descent people take offense to it? It is part of history. It is important to learn from it. It is important not try to imply that one form of slavery was more important than another.

All I hear in my classes and from all those single mothers is why don't us black folks get more, we needs more money from the govment" what I tell them is get a job, try working 1 or 2 jobs. most of the time they ignore me and keep talking on those 800 dollar phones. how do they afford those?

waitingforsupport said...

@11:17 am: Answer my question. You're making assumptions about what I know.

waitingforsupport said...

@1:33pm: i haven't provided MY view on the slave trade. I asked a question to which I have not received an answer.

waitingforsupport said...

@1:48pm: Why are you directing your response to me? A comment about "people of color" was made by "anonymous 12:13". Then, 11:04 commented and so on. I spoke of my experiences as an African American. Is that okay? 7:16 brought up slavery, etc. I asked about slavery in the US because 7:16 purports to know a lot about slavery. Make no mistake, I KNOW the history of America. I live in America. Was raised in America and love America. As far as colorism and other folks who experience discrimination, that is also part of the story of the US. If you are going to try and "check" someone or offer your expertise, make sure you address your response to the correct poster. Tip: Start from the top and work your way down. Thanks.

waitingforsupport said...

@4:34pm: If that's all you hear, what is your answer?

waitingforsupport said...

4:34pm: Wait. You tell them to get a job? Good answer. My sister works in west Virginia. She is a nurse. She has the same problem but with white single mothers and white folks in general. She said they won't stop the tweeking and opioid abuse. Also the mountain dew for breakfast needs to stop. You see...poverty is real. Thanks for the tip. I will share it with her and my cuz in California who is a doctor. The opioid abuse is out of control. It's like the crack. All the pretty little white babies are born addicted to opioids. In a few years they will be in schools. It's crack babies syndrome all over again this time with white babies

Anonymous said...

@5:24 PM - Thank you for your summary on opioids and how it is affecting whites throughout the country. Hopefully there will come a day where all voices may be heard.

@5:15 PM - It would be nice if you could communicate more compassion and understanding for others that have suffered. Not everything is about African American slavery. Since you've identified yourself as African American in the USA, feel blessed that you are not one of those enslaved throughout the world in modern times. You were able to attend school, college, become an educator, get a pension and retire with pension and social security. WE, meaning all that are of different backgrounds (age, skin color, ethnicity, race, religious affiliation), can come up with discriminatory acts that one has experienced in the USA.

waitingforsupport said...

@10:16pm: First, the silence about 4:34pm post is hilarious and telling. Second, Yes hopefully there will come a day when ALL voices are heard AND not attacked. Dumbazzes wrote about slavery all over the world however when asked about slavery in the US, the shut down began. It takes the form of, "not everything is about African American" or "feel blessed" or "everyone has been discriminated against". That my friends is how you silence voices. Unfortunately for you, I recognize the pattern. I stated earlier that I asked a question that has yet to be answered. If you are a teacher who requests a
research paper on slavery there is no way you should accept a paper that leaves out slavery in America. I bet many of you allow students to call you by your first name, giggle with and "play" teacher by helping "these poor children who can't learn". You've attacked my question but haven't answered it. This is what Carranza is trying to correct. You have a big voice on a blog but many of you will rather pass a failing student, than push back. Get back to remote teaching. You're blind.

waitingforsupport said...

@7:32 am: Possibly. However test scores are not the only indicator of intelligence. Half the teachers on this blog are great test takers but they are dumber than a box of sand. Keep it moving simple

Anonymous said...

Waiting for Support - The point is that you are one-sided and when you state 'slave trade' you are only acknowledging the 'slave trade' that went on in what is known today as the USA. You had also stated that you did not care who started slavery and that African Americans continue to experience the repercussions from it. The point was just being made that different countries, including Africans themselves, were all involved in the profitable business of slavery. There are good and bad people in all races, ethnicities, etc. It's amazing how much we all have in common in a historical sense yet there is so much animosity. Let's all be respectful in our language and how we communicate to each other, especially around these important and sensitive issues.

11:17 AM

If that is what you were referring to? It seems that this entries also asked you a question about if it would 'crash your paradigm'?

Perhaps it has sturred up comments due to your response about that you don't care who started slavery when others were commenting about slavery during different periods of time in history and those involved. Please do not take offense, but perhaps people want to voice their own history and maltreatment amongst their people. To state that you don't care may be taken in the way that it is not important.

@9:22 PM - No one is trying to silence your voice Waiting for Support, but it seems you are trying to silence others when you state that you don't care who started slavery. You don't get it! There is a topic being discussed and you don't like it when there are other points of view. You continue to be disrespectful as you wrote: "You're either blind, dumb, clueless, one-sided or all of the above." It seems you have unresolved anger issues due to your background as you cannot seem to maintain a socially responsible manner to communicate. You shift to put downs. That should signal something. That is what we attempt to teach students isn't it? I am of mixed background and am in a mixed racial marriage. Someone posted a comment about you being a crazy B..... It would be lovely if you could address others in a gracious manner. What you are doing, unfortunately, is adding more fuel to stereotypes.

waitingforsupport said...

@9:14pm: see 1:30 am. Be "surprised " about that.

waitingforsupport said...

9:29pm: what are talking about? Let me respond to a part of your comment "perhaps people want to voice their own history and maltreatment amongst their own people".
If that's true, why is the pushback so strong when I mention slavery in the US?
Also, what do you mean amongst their people? Is there a race or ethnicity tracker on this blog? I didn't see one.
Let me try to simplify MY opinion on what has happened:
Classroom: DT Humanities 101
Students A thru Y: White, colorism, Barbary coast slave, European slavery, and so on
Student Z: Slavery in the US
Students A-Y: It's not always about slavery in the US. You're selfish and one-sided. We've all been enslaved and so on.
Teacher: Now now Student Z you can't insult your classmates. They just want to share their own experiences. Why are you trying to stop them.

You can't make this stuff up.

You suggested I find another job because you didn't like my post.

Last year I had an 86% passing rate on my NYS regents, with 95% of the kids in my 5 classes taking the exam.

Can you match my numbers?
